Rising Expectations exists to bring those pieces together — not because one person has all the answers, but because the disability community does. Most people working in disability services genuinely want to make a difference. Too often, they're trying to do that within systems that make quality harder to achieve. We aren't here to fix the system alone. We're building the infrastructure that allows the community to improve it together.

This didn't start with a business plan. It started with a promise.
Alex was born at 25 weeks, weighing 1 lb 14 oz. He has never spoken, and communicates through expressions, movement, and breathing. A promise made to him eventually became a promise to his younger brother Jax, too — and then to every family who has ever felt alone in this system. It never changed. It simply grew.
Almost everyone in this field is trying to do right. But the system pushes nearly everyone into survival mode — and the person at the center feels every part of it. Better relationships create better support. Better support creates fuller, safer, more connected lives. This is our promise.
